MAY, Clarice Mary QSM (nee Arthur):
2.11.1921 – 6.01.2023
(101 years young) Clarice left us on the January 6, 2023 to finally see her Bill again after a very long, fruitful and happy innings. Clarice was Mum to Bill, Liz, Tommy, Mary-Jane (Mouse) and Sally, together with daughter-in-law Johanne, and son-in-law’s Peter (sadly deceased) and James. Nanny/Nan to all her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and to her very special “psuedo daughter”, Vicky. Mum was blessed with a glass half full attitude all through her life and with her strong Christian faith, always took everything that was thrown her way, in her stride. Mum will be missed but we know for sure that she was very ready to depart this world and meet again all those who have gone before her. At this time we, as a family, wish to thank the wonderful, caring and compassionate staff at Lakes District Hospital for their outstanding care over the last days of Mum’s life. Your kindness knew no bounds and was greatly appreciated. To Michelle and Daniel, her lovely caregivers over the past 4 years, we thank you. Mum looked forward to your arrival each and every day and the general banter that was had. To all Mum’s loyal and dear friends, thank you for constantly popping in, keeping an eye on Mum, taking her on wee trips and generally, being great friends. From the May family, we thank you all. At Mum’s wishes, there will be a private gathering at home for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, we would ask that donations be given to the Queenstown Branch of the Cancer Society.
