COMPTON, Bertram Alexander John:
Angela and family wish to express our appreciation of the love shown to us at the recent passing of Bert. A special thanks to the Doctors, Hospice carers and especially the local District Nurses – our angels in blue. Bert thought they were very special people who enabled Bert to pass peacefully at home. We were overwhelmed with offers of help, prayers, cards, phone calls, visits, food and cuddles and beautiful flowers. What a community! A special thanks to Trevor Crossan for taking Bert rabbit shooting (Bert’s dying wish) and he was still able to shoot as sick as he was and pushed himself to do the thing he loved until the very end. Bert leaves a legacy in the valley and beyond with over 63 years of carpentry being a “jack of all trades”, which we are very proud of. Bert had so many stories to tell and I hope some of them live on for those of you he shared them with.
