Loved grandmother and great-grandmother of André, Michelle, Joshua and Annaliese Reynolds (Invercargill); Joëlle, Mark and Sophie Shawe (Christchurch); Hannah Johnston and Scott Waterman (Manapouri); and Nicole Johnston (Bannockburn). Thank you to Diana Powers from Cancer Society, Marc Sescon and Dr Janine Winters from Otago Hospice for their support and guidance over John’s last months, Catlin’s Medical Centre team, for their care of John over the years, and Associate Professor Dr Gerry Wilkins and your team for your almost 40 years of dealing with John when he refused to give up. Thank you to the Clutha Health First General Practice team, Medical Ward, District Nurses and all Allied Health workers who have been involved with John’s health care over the years, and the ongoing support they’ve provided Gayle. Thank you to Alex McLaughlin who presented John’s eulogy so well highlighting the celebration of his life and accomplishments. To Mike Brown, thank you for your great narrative and fond memories.
