Owen died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Deeply loved husband and best friend of Mary for over 53 years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Cheryl and Andy Langford (Queenstown); David and Serena Buckingham (Queenstown); and cherished grandad “Buck” of Ben, Matthew, and Luca. At Owen’s request, a private family cremation has been held. We extend a warm welcome to everyone who has been privileged enough to have known Owen to come to a celebration of his life on Wednesday, May 31 at the Te Anau Events Centre at 1.30pm and to stay on afterwards for Buck’s “final shout.” In lieu of flowers, donations to the Neurological Foundation would be appreciated. Soulmate and wife of Crosbie; clever and inspiring mum and mother-in-law to Amanda and Boyd, Kristy and Jonathan; and adored Nan of Leo, Anya, Zara, Ryder and Fritha. Our cherished Candace died peacefully, with dignity and grace, at home in the late afternoon sun surrounded by her whanau. We’ll miss you so much and will remember you with your hands in the dirt, your head in the sun and your heart in the garden. A huge heartfelt thanks for the unwavering care and support from her medical team and the angels from Hospice and Southland District Nursing. We’d also like to pass on our sincere thanks to the Emergency Services, the Doctor,and Sally and Ross and the team from the Winton Funeral Services who went the extra mile to help us through the process of dealing with our shock and grief at that time.
