BUCKINGHAM, Owen David (Buck):
1946 – 2023
Owen died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Deeply loved husband and best friend of Mary for over 53 years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Cheryl and Andy Langford (Queenstown); David and Serena Buckingham (Queenstown); and cherished grandad “Buck” of Ben, Matthew, and Luca. At Owen’s request, a private family cremation has been held. We extend a warm welcome to everyone who has been privileged enough to have known Owen to come to a celebration of his life on Wednesday, May 31 at the Te Anau Events Centre at 1.30pm and to stay on afterwards for Buck’s “final shout.” In lieu of flowers, donations to the Neurological Foundation would be appreciated. CAMPBELL, Jeana (nee Needham):
Passed peacefully on Thursday 25 May, 2023, aged 61. Dearly loved wife of Colin. Much loved Mum of Amber and Veronica. GRIEVE, Candace Jane (nee Blair):
05.09.1948 – 23.05.2023
Soulmate and wife of Crosbie; clever and inspiring mum and mother-in-law to Amanda and Boyd, Kristy and Jonathan; and adored Nan of Leo, Anya, Zara, Ryder and Fritha. Our cherished Candace died peacefully, with dignity and grace, at home in the late afternoon sun surrounded by her whanau. We’ll miss you so much and will remember you with your hands in the dirt, your head in the sun and your heart in the garden. A huge heartfelt thanks for the unwavering care and support from her medical team and the angels from Hospice and Southland District Nursing. HAY, Betsy Morrison:
Peacefully on May 23, 2023 at Burwood Hospital with her beloved family, aged 93. Dearly loved wife and soulmate of Ian (dec); much cherished Mum and mother-in-law of David and Mary, Bruce and Shirley, Reece and Kylie, Grant and Jenny, Donna and Jeremy, Vicki and Stewart, Cleave and Amanda, and Sandra. Treasured Grandma to her 18 grandchildren and GG to her 15 great-grandchildren.

These, we are sure, will all help us come to terms with being without him over time. Your continued support and comforting visits and calls are greatly appreciated. We are still finding it difficult to believe that he is gone. To the many many of you who came from far and wide and paid your respects and celebrated his life with us at the Service for him in Invercargill, thank you for the lovely words, hugs and tears you shared with us all. To the special friends who spoke and told stories and made us laugh and cry, we appreciate it very much. The very special poem written by Graeme Williams is a joy to possess, thank you Graeme. We’d also like to pass on our sincere thanks to the Emergency Services, the Doctor,and Sally and Ross and the team from the Winton Funeral Services who went the extra mile to help us through the process of dealing with our shock and grief at that time.
