1946 – 2023 Mary, Cheryl, David and families would like to offer our thanks to the many people who showed great kindness and support during Owen’s illness and in the time since he left us on May 25, 2023. For the compassionate medical care of Owen we are truly indebted to Te Anau Nurses Bernie and Leigh and Doctor Paula King. Also thanks to Ross Thomson at J Fraser & Son. Finally, thank you to all our friends and family who visited, called or sent cards and flowers, dropped off meals and baking in his last days and, following his passing. We truly appreciate all your support and love. Forever in our hearts.

On July 20, 2023, aged 85 years. Passed away peacefully. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Stephen and Lisa Swann, Joanne and Olaf Jensen. Loved Nanna of Nicole, Charlotte, James, Luke, Amelia and Oliver. Loved wife of the late Ian Guise, and stepmother of Raewyn and Roger. Beloved sister to Beverly Winter, Adrienne van Drimmelan, and Audrey Johnstone (The Powell Girls). Many thanks to the staff of Colwyn House for their care and support. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Elaine’s life in the Trinity Methodist Church, 32 Clive Square East, Napier on Tuesday, July 25 at 10.30am, followed by private cremation. (Previously of Te Anau). On June 20, 2023, peacefully in care at Summerset at Bishopscourt; in her 89th year. Loved daughter of Ted and Hazel Hamel, loved sister and sister-in-law of Margaret and Bruce Hormann (Whanganui), and Murray and Allannah Hamel (both deceased), loved aunt of Stephen and Sabine Hormann, Michael and Gill Hormann, and Jane and Jason Mallasch, Sue and Keri Tuna, Raewyn and Dion Rowe, and Nola and Allan Willoughby, loved great-aunt of Louisa and Kristina, James and Robert, Ashley and Paige, Jaimee, Daniel and Tom, Ethan and Jacob, and Brooke and Jared. With grateful thanks to the staff at Summerset who cared for Joan over her time in residence. Resting in God’s Garden – A memorial service to celebrate Joan’s life will be held in Lakeside Presbyterian Church, 112 Te Anau Terrace, Te Anau at 2.00pm on Friday 28 July. Passed away peacefully on Monday, July 17, aged 84 years surrounded by her loving family. Dearly loved and adored wife of Vic. Suddenly at home on Tuesday, 18th July 2023. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Lesley. Loved father and father-in-law of Ian & Jenny, Kirsty & Rob Maxwell, Fiona & Bruce Cushen,, and a loved Grandad to all his grand and great grandchildren.
Loved Stepfather of Donna & Ross, Linda & Wayne, and dearly loved Goog’s of Josh. Loved friend of Vinny & Shelley, Libby, and Emma. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Joanna & Keith Barclay, and Simon & Danny Stewart. A loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. On July 18th 2023; aged 89 years, Tom passed peacefully at Clare House surrounded by his family. Tom was the dearly loved husband and best friend of the late Joan, father and father-in-law to Greg & Nicola, Jocelyn & Eric Todd, Scott & Gillian. A much loved and special Grandad to Courtney (Melbourne), Rebecca (London), Jessica, Mitchell, Kristen & James Schrader, Liam & Megan Todd (Nashville), Sophie & Nina, and great grandad of Marley Schrader. A dearly loved brother and brother-in-law to Irene* and Jack* Keown, Zena* and Graham* Klink, Fred* and Shirley*, Jack* and Lesley, Edna and Jimmy* Pinn, Hilda and John* Fyfe, and Bill* Dobbie, brother-in-law to David and Lakkhana Fergie, Judith Lloyd, and Allison and John Roberts, loved uncle to all of his nieces & nephews.
