Passed peacefully at Windsor Park Gore after a long battle with his health with Chrissy beside him. Beloved son to the late George and Dorothy Deans, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. A private service for Russell has been held at Macdonald & Weston Funeral Home, Invercargill. The family wish to thank the staff at Southland Hospital and Windsor Park for their care over the last few weeks and for his health team over the last few years. McEWAN, Wayne ‘Ox’:
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne McEwan ‘Ox.’ Wayne passed away peacefully on Thursday October 17, 2024, after a short illness surrounded by his loved ones. Wayne is a much-loved partner of Ann, a loved and cherished father to Shannon and Meredith, Bradley and Kirsten (Omakau), Kylie and Rei (Te Anau) whom he shared with Karen, along with his adored grandchildren Kacee, Leah, Harry, Jack, Cooper, and Oscar. Our lovely 94 year old Mum passed away peacefully at home with her family on Sunday, 13 October 2024 at Lady Barkly, Winton. She has gone to be with Dad (Bill). Loved so much by all her children and partners: John and Irene Ridley, Neill* and Margaret Ridley, Michael and Anne Ridley, Brian and Alice Ridley, Jim and Judy Ridley, Helen and Martin* Black, Nicky and David Black and loved by all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mum was lovingly cared for by Nicky and David for many years and the family thanks them for the wonderful life they ensured Mum had. As requested by Mum, the family held a private service for her on Thursday, 17 October at Southland Crematorium.
