BENFELL, Fredrick William Donald (Fred):
After many a battle with my health, I let go this time on Monday, September 11th , 2023, to join my parents Bert & Isabelle Benfell and my top working dog “Darky”. Thank you to my amazing wife, Jeanette Benfell. Your love, devotion, kindness, and support
allowed me to live a longer life, more than I could imagine. I would like others to show support and love to my two sons, Nathan Benfell & Hamish Benfell, my sisters Lorrianne Borthwick, Joy Murray, Irene Benfell – Herron, my brother Stewart Benfell and all their families in my absence. I didn’t want fuss nor sorrow, so I chose to have a private burial with my family and close friends. I would also like to acknowledge all the district nurses, carers and the team at Baillie and Lewis Pharmacy who offered such
amazing support to me over a number of years. Until we meet again, Fred Benfell.

Passed away peacefully after a short illness surrounded by family at Hospice Southland on Wednesday, September 13th 2023, aged 77 years. Dearly loved husband of Shona. Adored father of Maria and Aaron. Much loved father in law of Natasha. Much loved Grandad of Hayden, Jessica and Cory, William, Olivia and Jahan. Loved Great Grandad of Harley, Clayton, McKenzie, Jack, Riley, Louie and George. Died at South Care Rest Home and Hospital, Dunedin on Friday, September 8, 2023. Aged 55 years. DENNIS, Irene Elizabeth (nee Anderson):
Passed peacefully at Southland Hospital on September 11, 2023. Much loved wife and best friend of Ron, beloved mum of Vicky, and Tony*, cherished sister to Robert*, Jennifer, Kathleen*, Joan, and Dorothy, adored aunty to all her nieces and nephews. Irene’s family wish to sincerely thank all the Doctors & Nursing staff at Southland Hospital for their special care and support of her.
Irene was a wonderful lady and will be missed by all that knew her. Ron & Irene recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary, Irene was a keen gardener and was a resident of Stewart Island for over 40 years. Thank you all for your continued support at this time.

Alec passed quietly at home with family. He was the youngest son of the late Henry Osborne and Julia Winifred Gibson. Loved brother of Dorothy*, John*, Erin*, Clare*, Jean*, Bill, David*, and Diane. HILL, Graeme Richard:
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Graeme Richard Hill on Saturday the 9th of September 2023 aged 82 years. Graeme is the dearly loved husband of Rowena and Father of Suzanne (deceased), Andrea, and Miranda. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Shane and Tracey, Hayden and Sara, Charmaine, Kaysee and Marcus, and Brittany and his great grandchildren Brooklyn, Willow, Lachie, Sienna, Reed, Harlow, Briar, Erica and Jett. Graeme was a much loved brother of Shirley Sellars. A service for Graeme will be held at the Lake Hayes Pavilion Arrowtown at 1:00pm Saturday the 16th of September 2023.Followed by a private family interment. In lieu of flowers donations to the Queenstown Hospice and Queenstown District Nurses would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Aged 63, wife of the late Leon Hogan, loved partner of David Blain and very much loved mother of Dayna Hogan. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Lindsay and Jill Morton, Rosaleen and Russell Adamson.
