KATTENBERG, Ada Beatrice (nee Powell):
Passed away peacefully January 8, 2023 at the Charles Fleming Retirement Village, Waikanae, in her 97th year. Born at Llangunllo in Wales. Ada came to NZ in 1946 as a War Bride. She was the beloved wife of the late Dirk Kattenberg and the late Roy Ashworth, Paraparaumu. Also remembering her late fiancé Mervyn Davis RNZAF 427103 of Invercargill. Died on Active Service 17 March 1945 and buried at Durnbach War Cemetery, Germany. Loved mother and mother-in-law of the late Marie Porter (Aust), and Margaret and Mike Fraser (Auckland). Much loved Aunty Faye to all her nieces and nephews. As per Faye’s wishes a private farewell was held on Friday 13 January.
