It is with heavy hearts, we announce the tragic loss of our beloved Mitch, in Cromwell, on Monday, March 10, 2025, aged 26 years. Very much loved and cherished son and stepson of Mirriam and Julian, and Peter and Deborah, and loved brother, brother-in-law and best friend of Megan and Dylan, Ryan and Mackenzie, Demi and Jack, and the coolest, fun-loving uncle and uncle-to-be of, George and Lilly; Riley and Bubs. Much loved grandson of Hugh* and Gwen, Cindy* and Mel*, and loved nephew, cousin, stepbrother, and friend to many. Treasured doggy daddy of Coco and Fido.

A service to celebrate Mitchell’s life will be held at the Gore Town and Country Club, Bury Street, Gore, on Wednesday, 19 March at 12:30pm, followed by interment at the Edendale Cemetery. Passed away peacefully on Friday 14th March 2025, aged 88 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Beverley. Much loved father and father-in-law of Carolyn and Graeme, Roger and Katherine, and Pauline and Darren. Loved Grandad John of Nathan, Laura, Rebecca and Brehan, Katie and Gareth, and adored Great Grandad John of Tilly and Charlie. STANAWAY, Leonard:
Maureen is heartbroken to announce the death of her beloved husband, Doug (80), at Dunstan Hospital, Clyde, on Friday, March 14, 2025. Doug was so loved and cherished by his family: his son David (deceased) and Claire Stanaway (Sydney); daughter Donna, and Steve Elkington (Nelson): and youngest daughter Sharyn, and Lee Woodhouse (Oamaru); as well as his adored grandchildren, Sarah and Lauren Stanaway, Oliver and James Elkington, and Jordan, Matthew, Michael, and Daniel Woodhouse. Doug was widely known for his strong work ethic and exceptional DIY skills. He served as the manager of Great Southern in Oamaru for 35 years. A true community-minded individual, Doug made significant contributions to the Oamaru and Alexandra Catholic Churches and the Oamaru Heritage area. His passions included music, tramping, camping, old-time sequence dancing, and cruising out for a coffee in his cherished MGC.
A Requiem Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, Killarney Street, Alexandra, on Friday, March 21, starting at 1.30pm, followed by interment at the Alexandra Cemetery. Refreshments will be served at the Alexandra District Club, 35 Centennial Avenue. Messages may be sent to 45 Aronui Road, Alexandra. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Heart Foundation would be appreciated.
