BUTLER, John Keith:
Peacefully with his loving family by his side in the care of Bupa Ascot on Sunday, 11th August 2024, aged 80 years. Dearly loved father, father-in-law and grandfather of Maria, Karen, Steven, Helena and their families. A service to celebrate John’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street on Wednesday, 14th August at 11:00am, the service will conclude with the interment at the Eastern Cemetery. HUTTON, Marjorie:
Peacefully, at Bupa Care Home, Invercargill, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, aged 92 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Eddie, loving mother and mother-in-law of Allan and Dianne, Philip and Molly, much loved Nana Marj of Scott and April, Ben and Amy, Kurt, Lachlan and Tansy; Claudia and Ethan, and her 11 great-grandchildren. KEAN, Paul James:
27/10/1950 – 9/8/2024
Suddenly at Southland Hospital on August 9, 2024. Aged 73 years. Loved son of the late Sylvie and Ann Kean. Loved brother and brother-in- law of Liz* and Jim* Duncan, Zita and Nick Sloane, John and Jenny* Kean, Ann and Chris Brayshaw, Josie, Frank and Jan, Jenny and Terry* Hodgett, David and Anne Kean, Margaret Kean* and friend of Richard Merlo. The family would to thank the staff at Clare House for their love and care of Paul. In accordance with Paul’s wishes a private cremation has been held. A gathering is to be held at the Ascot Hotel on Wednesday, 14 August at 2.00pm to celebrate Paul’s life with light refreshments. Of Waipahi. Peacefully at Hospice Southland, on Friday, August 9, 2024, aged 81 years. Loved son of George Nelson* and Linda Edna* Murray, loved brother of Isla (Ballina, Australia), and Uncle of Trevor*, loved cousin of Karen and Craig Ramsay, Rob and Jude Tosh, Bill and Fiona Tosh, Kaylene Murray and Wayne, Andy and Louise Hunter, Jane Hunter, and families. Bevan would like to say a big thanks to the Doctors and Nurses for putting up with him for the last 6 years. A service to celebrate Bevan’s life will be held at the Waipahi Community Centre, Railway Terrace, on Tuesday, August 13, at 1.00pm, leaving for Waipahi Cemetery thereafter. On Friday, August 9, 2024 at Oamaru Hospital Grant passed his last checkered flag. Treasured husband of Margaret, father and friend of Derek and Stef (Oamaru), Anna and Alistair (Port Chalmers) and Poppa of Jamie (Dunedin) and Mace (Port Chalmers). Loved brother and brother-in-law of Allison and Keith* (Oamaru), Lorraine and Geoff Grenfell (Oamaru), Keryn and Alan Holmquist (Oamaru), Mace and Julie (Auckland), Florence and Jim* Bruce (Invercargill), Stuart and Lynette McDonald (Timaru), Elsie McDonald (Timaru), Jenny and Neil McDonald (Australia). Legendary uncle of all his nephews and nieces. The funeral will be held at 11.00am on Wednesday, August 14 at Eveline Presbyterian Church in Oamaru. (*denotes deceased).
