Peacefully on Tuesday 1 October 2024, in the care of Clare House, aged 90 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Eric. Cherished mother and nana of Vicki and Chelsea. Loved mother and mother in-law of Brian and Jill. Treasured nana of the late Christopher, and Hannah and Jon Thomson. Nana Marie of Lachie, Ella and Maisie Thomson. Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, aged 82 years. Surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband of the late Jocelyn, and special friend of Fay. Loved father and father-in-law of Greg and Andrea (Gore), Joanne and Mike (Invercargill), Nathan and Lauren (Albany, Australia), Rachel and Gary (Wanaka). A service for John will be held at Southern Funeral Home Chapel, 106 Hokonui Drive, Gore, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 1.00pm, followed by afternoon tea. Then leaving for East Winton Cemetery, where John will be laid to rest with Jocelyn. Donations may be left at John's service for Hospice Southland. Passed away peacefully at Kew Hospital with Gwen and Mavis by his side. Beloved son of the late Jock and Teenie Mathieson, Otautau.
