GIBSON, Douglas Graham (Doug):
Doug passed away at home on Friday, March 15, 2024 with his family by his side. Loved husband of Maureen, loved father of Bruce, and Scott, loved Pop of Josh and Maisie, Emma and Robin, Sam, and William, great Pop of Bodhi, Teddy, and a dear friend of Denise. Loved brother- in -law of June and John Ngatai, and Euan and Kay Dickson. In accordance with Doug’s wishes a private cremation has been held. Family and friends are invited for afternoon tea to celebrate Doug’s life at the Gore RSA, 12 Bowler Street, Gore, on Saturday April 20, at 1.30pm. Messages to 158 Whiterig Road, RD3, Gore 9770.

YOUNG, Dorothy Anna (nee Greer):
Of Rose Lodge, formerly of Rata Road, Otatara. Passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday 19 March, 2024, in her 96th year. Dearly loved wife of Jim; cherished mother and mother-in-law of Peter and Anne, Stephanie McLaughlin, Maria and Alec McNee, Mark and Jude, John and Xiaolu, Paul and Gail, Andrea and Allan Ladbrook, Richard and Sheryl, Christine and Peter Pryde, Brendan and Donna, Louise and Bruce Alsop, Owen and Sarah. Much loved Nana of her 44 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. Loved sister and sister-in-law of the Greer and Young families. Special thanks to Rose Lodge for their wonderful care and loving friendships she made during her last few years. A service to celebrate the life of Dorothy will be held in St Mary’s Basilica, Tyne Street, Invercargill on Monday 25 March at 2pm followed by interment at Eastern Cemetery.
