JONES, Majorie:
Marjorie sadly passed away at St. John's Hill Lifecare, Wanganui, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, aged 96 years. Much loved wife of the late Ernest (Ernie) Jones, and treasured mother of the late Robert (Dudley) (Palmerston North), Barbara and David Anderson (Winton), and Pamela Barnes (Wanganui). She was the loved sister of Beryl Freeman (U.K.). Marjorie was a very special Grandmother to Reese Jones, Dylan Jones (both Palmerston North), Carla and Vinny Lawrence (Invercargill), Rachel Anderson (Winton), Matthew and Kylie Anderson (Auckland), James and Cushla Barnes (Wanganui), Sarah Barnes (Upper Hutt), and her eight great-grandchildren. The family sincerely thank St. John's Hill Lifecare for their loving care of our Mum during her short stay. It was Marjorie's wish for a Private Family Farewell, which has been held.

NYHON, Denis:
Farmer and fisherman, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, at his home in Tarras, after a courageous battle with cancer. Aged 69 years. Dearly loved husband and best friend to Sharlene, father and stepfather to Shane, Kelly, Tess; Ayla and Cameron, Grandie to Emilia, Brooke, Ivy, Ashlyn, Bowie, Millie and Luca. A service for Denis will be held at Long Gully Station, 414 Jolly Road, Tarras, at 1.00pm on Thursday, January 23. An area for overnight camping and motorhome parking will be available. SINCLAIR, Lyall:
Lyall passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a short illness and a brave battle on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Aged 76 years. Devoted and loving husband of Fay. Incredibly loved father, father-in-law and very proud 'Wal' of Deidre and Roly, Sam, and Allie Senior (Oamaru), Glenn and Debbie, Daniel (Invercargill), Kelvin and Simone, Kamryn, Makenna, and Ashar (Winton).
Our hearts are broken. Gone Trucking.
Grateful thanks to Dr Caroline Stewart and the team at Winton Medical Services, and to Haidee at Hospice Southland. A celebration of Lyall's life will be held at The Hideaway, 201 Lochiel Branxholme Road, on Wednesday, January 22, at 1.30pm, to be followed by interment at East Winton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Southland and Winton Medical Services would be greatly appreciated.
