Yes, folks, we’ve met up with a true blue Taylor Swift fan who is going to see the American Mega Star perform in Sydney this week.

Invercargill retail assistant Will Baird with partner Leyton  will be part of the thousands who are travelling from all over Australia and New Zealand to be part of the biggest production to come to the southern hemisphere.

Will Baird says his mum raised him with lots of country music but was also a big fan of pop music of the time. He says Swift’s 1989 album was a turning point. Will Baird says when 1989 came out he decided to go digging in to her previous country music songs and fell in love with her songwriting style.

As for Taylor Swift not bringing her gigantic Eras tour to New Zealand, Will Baird says he’s disappointed but more than happy to take the opportunity to visit Australia for the first time. He says it’s the perfect excuse to get to experience his first trip out of the country.

Taylor Swift are not total strangers, Will Baird made sure that he was there when Swift brought her Reputation tour to New Zealand in 2018, the third time Swift visited New Zealand.

Asked if he had a favourite Taylor Swift song of the moment, Will Baird says the song Ivy from the Evermore album is his pick but he adds that picking fav’s is so hard as she has a 250 song catalogue and a new album The Tortured Poets Department soon to be released.
