Anybody walking into the Spring Into Wellbeing Expo at the Wallacetown Community Centre on Saturday would have felt a sense of calm.
And that’s exactly what the organisers Kate Watkinson and Katie Oliver wanted.
Many people commented that from the moment they walked into the expo they felt peaceful, relaxed, safe and welcome.
The girls created sacred space by putting clear intentions into the environment so it was blessed, and this was also supported by Maori healer Gina Malcom.
Kate said the day was an absolute success in terms of how many people they reached with their many treatments, talks and workshops, and the lives that it transformed.
“Sometimes we need to reframe what success is. It’s not always about the numbers but how much of an impact it has made.”
The Expo provided a platform for those who are passionate about offering their skills and services in the wellbeing sector, with a definite demand for more in the future.
“We know from here something is going to blossom, we just don’t know what thats’s going to look like,” she said.
Katie said people just loved the interactive workshops and talks, and she was so grateful for the willingness of people to help on the day.
“We had a big group of volunteers who were just incredible,” she said.
There were also a range of treatments offered on the day, such as detox and massage, that were also popular.
“Everyone was here with something very important to share.”
Many stallholders were new to business and the Expo gave them confidence to continue doing what they are doing.
“There was a lot of emerging stallholders, and this has given them something to aim for,” Katie said.
It also gave the wellbeing community a network and a programme to be a ‘conscious’ business owner, and to be able to support each other in their growth.
“Together we can raise our game,” Katie said.
