Weekend harness racing has been a rarity in the early part of the season here in the south but the next two Sunday’s will feature quality racing for those looking for a good day out.

The Invercargill Harness Racing Club are first up on Sunday 8 November with a full programme of ten races at Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill.

The first race is timed to start at 12.05pm with the last scheduled for 4.43pm.

The weekly Farmers Market which is held on the racecourse every Sunday from 9.30am until 1.30pm will also be happening on the day so the public can take in the various stalls and stay on to enjoy the racing.

The following Sunday (15 November) the Winton Harness Racing Club hold their first weekend meeting of the season at Central Southland Raceway in Winton with a full day of racing planned.

With the next weekend date in the region not until Saturday 19 December the next two weekend’s give harness racing fans who are unable to attend midweek meetings a great opportunity to make it to the track to enjoy a couple of days of great racing.

Admission to the course on both days is free.
