Visit to Stadium Southland

Escaped from the office yesterday afternoon to have a look the all NEW Stadium Southland and I wasn’t disappointed one word ‘INCREDIBLE’. Myself like many people I’m sure at times have found the never ending re-build saga tiring and over it, plus when we heard figures like $40+ Million re-build cost bounded about thoughts like white elephant, black hole came to mind.

It’s not till you get down to the NEW Stadium Southland and check it out for yourself that any previous negative thoughts quickly disappear. The space and huge areas from squash courts, basketball courts to the cafe and very open and welcoming reception area….you start thinking WOW we have an incredible community asset that can only be good for our great city.

To all the Stadium Southland Management, Trustees and sponsors you get a 10/10 on a great job for sticking to it over this long re-build.

Invercargill/Southland we have a brand new Stadium that we can all be proud of.
