Invest South has appointed Bridget Unsworth as a new director to the Board.

Bridget brings more than a decade’s experience working in venture capital, private equity and angel investment sectors in London and New Zealand.

“I am really excited to join the board of Invest South and to be involved in the great opportunities that are emerging from within the region,” says Bridget.

“Being able to play a part in supporting these companies to grow and achieve their full potential on a national and international scale is a huge privilege and something I look forward to becoming more active in.”

Bridget is Operations Director at the Angel Association of New Zealand and was previously Investment Director at New Zealand Venture Investment Fund for nine years. She also worked for MVision Private Equity Advisers, where she was based in London, raising capital for Private Equity in both the developed and emerging markets.

Currently based in Auckland, Bridget is also on the board of TracPlus Global, a real-time asset tracking solutions provider. She graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Commerce.

Invest South Chairman Mark O’Connor says Bridget brings significant experience across key areas including assessing early-stage businesses, knowledge management, organisational development and governance.

“Bridget is a seasoned commercial leader with a diverse skillset and real passion for what Invest South does, assisting the growth of businesses in the Southern region.

“We’re thrilled to have her on board as we look to the future, particularly at this critical time when our businesses need more support than ever as they navigate a new post-pandemic world. Invest South is enthusiastic about building resilient and successful enterprises for not just our region but all of New Zealand.”
