Highways advise progress on the SH1 Clyde Street project, with the first concrete pour scheduled for next week. To facilitate smoother traffic flow, we are reopening the northbound lanes of SH1 Clyde Street at 6pm today. These lanes will be accessible over the weekend until 7am on Monday, ensuring that traffic moves efficiently.
For those travelling southbound, please note that the usual route will continue to be redirected via Earn and Nith streets. This measure is in place to ensure that all motorists can reach their destinations without significant delays.
In addition to the developments on SH1, Invercargill City Council wish to inform residents and visitors of Invercargill about the closure of the Herbert Street/Queens Drive roundabout. This closure will commenced at 6pm on Friday, 5 April, and will last for 24 hours, concluding at 6pm on Saturday, 6 April. During this period, various detour routes have been arranged to minimise inconvenience.
Motorists are advised to follow the detour signs placed in strategic locations around the affected areas.
All detours will be clearly signposted on site in all directions, – for those northbound, it’s best to use King Street – for those southbound, it’s best to use Duke through to Dee or Kelvin – for those east/west, it’s best to use Windsor St north and south, and Lees St through to Duke and Layard
