Sunday Update: The Christmas In The Bluff parade (and only the
parade) has been cancelled due to today’s weather but all other
activities – stalls, childrens activities, music etc. etc. are still
very much all go under the shelter at the Oyster Festival site from 1pm.
So Christmas In The Bluff is very much on today – just no street parade.
Action begins at the Oyster Festival site at 1pm.
What a day for the kids! Around 200 ice creams, 200 bags of lollies, 200 bags of chips and 200 soft drinks await the kids as Bluff’s big pre-Christmas event on Sunday, the 9th of December, approaches – and it is all free!

Christmas In The Bluff this year will begin as per usual with a street parade along Gore Street starting at the Liffey Street intersection at 1pm. The parade then heads down Gore Street to the Oyster Festival site where a fantastic family day of activity follows immediately afterwards.

Entry to the gala day is free and there will be plenty of activity to keep the children amused including the Santa Grotto where children can have their photo taken with Santa plus free mini jeeps, face painting, a bouncy castle, astroball, a jelly eating competition, children’s games plus the plentiful free giveaways for the kids.

A wide range of craft stalls with a variety of wares, a chocolate wheel and a Decorated Christmas Tree Competition will also feature with the public able to vote for their favourite tree by way of a gold coin, the winner taking home a prize and a trophy.

All proceeds from this year’s event go towards next year’s Christmas In The Bluff.
