Two Southlanders Will Be Plying Their Trade At World Sevens Series

Invers Sports Hub caught up with two Southlanders plying their trade at the highest level on the world stage. Today we talked to current ILT Board member Paddy O’Brien and Sportsmed Southern Physiotherapy’s Karl McDonald before they embark on the final leg of the World Sevens Series in London and Paris.

O’Brien and McDonald work for World Rugby as Sevens Referees Manager and Sevens Referees Physiotherapist and Strength and Conditioning coach respectively. They travel to all ten World Series events throughout the year alongside the other member of management, former international referee, South African Craig Joubert who is the Referees Coach.

The last two events over the next two weekends are extremely important as they will determine who wins the 2018/2019 Series and also which countries gain automatic entry to the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
