Police Update: Tuesday 8th March
Police can now release the name of the man who died as a result of the crash on the Winton Wreys Bush Highway, Oreti Plains, Southland, on Monday 7 March.
He was Raymond Alan Johnston (known as Alan), 81, from Tuatapere.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
Police have confirmed that one person has died as a result of the crash on the Winton Wreys Bush Highway, Oreti Plains, in Southland. Two vehicles were involved and at least one person is trapped in one of the crashed vehicles.
Police and Emergency Services are still at the scene.
The road is still closed and motorists should expect lengthy delays while the scene is cleared.
A Police Serious Crash Investigation has been commenced into the crash.
