Southern Harness Racing will pay tribute to commentator Dave McDonald at their meeting at Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill on today (Thursday 30 July).

In his typical “no fuss’ style Davey Mac will enjoy some time amongst the crowd at the Top Of The Park during the afternoon before a presentation in the birdcage after Race 6 on the card which is timed for 2.59pm.

Dave was an extremely popular race caller throughout the south and celebrated 40 years of commentating in 2016. He also received a Services To Sport Award at the Southland Sports Awards that year.

Southern Harness Racing encourage the public to come along to show Dave their appreciation of a wonderful career. The first race is at 12.24pm and admission is free.
