Tina Turner - Simply The Best

Wow, that was a bolt from the blue, the news through the week that the Queen of Rock n Roll, Tina Turner has passed away.

Tina died aged 83 at her home in Switzerland after battling illness for a long time.

What a life she lead, the lows were about as low as one could go, and come out the other side. The highs, they were about as high as one could imagine. Tina certainly knew both sides of the coin.

Tributes flew in abundance –

“Rest in peace to one of my favorite artists of all time, the legendary queen of rock n’ roll Tina Turner. I’ve seen her many many times and hands down, she gave one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. She always gave you your money’s worth,” former American basketball player Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson tweeted.

Bryan Adams -“The world just lost one of the greatest performers of all time. I’ll be forever grateful for the time we spent together on tour, in the studio and as friends. Thank you for being the inspiration to millions of people around the world for speaking your truth and giving us the gift of your incredible voice. My condolences to her husband Erwin and Tina’s family. It’s Only Love…and that’s all,”

“I’m so saddened by the passing of my wonderful friend Tina Turner. She was truly an enormously talented performer and singer. She was inspiring, warm, funny and generous. She helped me so much when I was young and I will never forget her,” Mick Jagger.

Mariah Carey – The words legendary, iconic, diva, and superstar are often overused and yet Tina Turner embodies them all and so many more – an incredible performer, musician and trailblazer. To me, she will always be a survivor and an inspiration to women everywhere. Her music will continue to inspire generations to come. Rest in Peace,

Even space agency NASA tweeted its tribute Simply the best. Music legend Tina Turner sparkled across the stage and into millions of hearts as the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Her legacy will forever live among the stars.

But to cap it off Tina once said that when she divorced that awful piece of work Ike Turner that she gave him everything, everything she had. All she wanted was her future.
