Record Powerball Win Shared By Three Players, Invers Gets Second Division
It was a night to remember for Lotto NZ and players across the country as the historic $55 million Must Be Won Powerball draw delivered life-changing wins to three lucky ticket holders. Each of the three winners matched all six Lotto numbers along with the winning Powerball number, splitting the

A record-breaking night for Lotto players saw three lucky Powerball winners each take home more than $18.3 million in Saturday’s Must Be Won draw.

The total $55 million jackpot was split equally, with each winner receiving $18,333,333 from Powerball First Division, plus a Lotto First Division prize of $55,556 – making a grand total of $18,388,889 per winner.

“What a fantastic result. It’s great to see the Powerball jackpot being shared among a number of players,” said Lotto NZ CEO Jason Delamore.

“A win like this doesn’t just change one life – it can transform families, friends, and even entire communities. Our winners often give back in incredible ways, from helping loved ones to supporting charities. The impact of this win will reach far beyond the individual winners,” he said.

To keep the excitement alive, Lotto NZ will not reveal where the winning tickets were sold until 11am on Sunday 16 November. This gives all players the chance to check their tickets first.

Fifteen other players also struck it lucky, each taking home $55,556 in Lotto First Division. Another 62 Lotto players won $16,909 in the Second Division.

Strike Four was not struck and will now climb to $400,000 for the next draw on Wednesday.

“Lotto NZ exists to make a difference for Kiwi communities – that’s what drives us every day. 100% of our profits go back into supporting communities, and every ticket sold contributes towards that. So a huge thank you to everyone who played in tonight’s draw – you’re helping thousands of good causes make a difference across Aotearoa,” said Delamore.

Lotto NZ is encouraging the latest big winners to contact their Customer Support team on 0800 695 6886 to get the help and guidance they may need.

This Must Be Won draw was triggered because the Powerball Division 1 prize pool had reached $55 million – surpassing the $50 million cap. When no single player wins outright in these draws, the prize rolls down to the next division with winners, and if there’s more than one, the jackpot is split evenly.

The last time a Must Be Won jackpot of this size was drawn was in 2020, when ten winners shared a $50 million prize.
