
Emergency services were called to the scene of a serious crash at the intersection of Yarrow and Isabella Streets in Glengarry, Invercargill shortly after 8pm on Tuesday evening. The crash, which involved three vehicles including a van, led to road closures and a significant emergency response.
St John confirmed they were notified at 8.06pm and responded with a large number of resources including four ambulances, two rapid response units, three First Response Units, an operations manager, and their Major Incident Support Team.

Twelve people were assessed by ambulance staff at the scene. Two patients were taken to Southland Hospital – one in a serious condition and one in a moderate condition.
"A further ten patients, all of whom are in a minor condition are also in the process of being transported to Southland Hospital."
Police confirmed the crash caused blockages on both Yarrow and Isabella Streets. A full scene examination is now underway to determine the cause of the collision.
