Highways South have advised whatsoninvers.nz that due to the recent weather this week, the final sealing job on Dee Street/North Road has been delayed and slowed. The crews will resume work this evening and Sunday night, weather permitting. It was originally scheduled for completion on Thursday, December 14th.

Invercargill City Council have also added roading updates for next week.

Next week, Downers is resealing several streets around Invercargill.

Sunday: Glen Way, Glengarry Crescent, Cree Street, and a section of Yarrow Street North and South

Monday: Gordon Street, Roy Street, Rugby Street, Racecourse Road (near Layard St), a section of Layard Street, St Andrew Street, Bourke Street, Ure Street St, and Cheyne Street.

Tuesday: Lansdowne Street, Maitland Street, Flora Road East and Princes Street

Traffic management will be in place, so please follow the detours and temporary speed limits.

This work will be completed between 7am – 7pm each weekday. It does require good weather, so if it rains, it may be postponed

Footpaths will remain open, however, there will be no on-street parking during the day.

There may be some loose stone chips on the road after the resealing is complete – this is normal and part of the process. After a few days, council contractors will return to sweep them up.
