Strong Wind Warning
Impact: Strong wind gusts could damage trees, powerlines and unsecured structures. Driving may be hazardous, especially for high-sided vehicles and motorcycles.

Forecast: Southwest gales are forecast to be severe at times, with gusts reaching 120 km/h. Note, another period of gale southwesterlies likely about the coast during Sunday morning and afternoon.

Period: 17hrs from 9am Sat, 21 May – 2am Sun, 22 May
Forecast: Southwest winds may approach severe gale in exposed places.
Area: Coastal Southland including Stewart Island
Period: 10hrs from 9am – 7pm Sat, 21 May
