The Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel take on the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic at ILT Stadium Southland in Invercargill tonight (April 10), in the team’s first home netball game in round 3 of the ANZ Premiership.
Team captains, Wendy Frew (Steel) and Casey Kopua (Magic), believe the intensity lifted in round two and expected tonight’s match to go to another level.
The Steel shooting circle was given a tough workout against the long limbs of Anna Harrison (Mystics) last week, during Steel’s 74-67 win over the Mystics, and will be put through its paces against the in-form defensive partnering of Casey Kopua and Kelly Jury in tonight’s clash.
Steel shooter Jhaniele Fowler-Reid shot 60 goals from 69 attempts against the Mystics and is averaging 56 goals a match at 91% accuracy.
Make sure you are court side when the match begins at 7.40pm. Tickets are on sale from the Stadium or online at www.ticketdirect.co.nz#
