This Sunday The Riverside Speedway will host the first ever Southern Bullet Cup meeting for Modified Sprints. Not to be confused with the Southern Bullet Series, the Cup is an open event meaning drivers from outside of the club can enter, this could well see up to twenty two cars from Invercargill and Christchurch entered. The event put together by local businesses Sievwright Blasting Panel and Paint, K&D Automotive, MKS Kart Shop, Probuild Engines and PPG offers a very healthy cash prize which will be up for grabs.Heading into the event Jase McMullin, Ray Phillips and Michael Jackson are all fresh off race wins in Dunedin last weekend and will certainly be at the pointy end of the field.

Tony Jones would also like to etch his name on the trophy and has proved to be a tough opponent for the Clement siblings so far this season.Sprintcars Southland Title will be run depending on numbers, as will the Best Pairs Championship for Saloons.Youth Saloons will have the re-running of the Christmas Trophy that was cancelled in December and should see another epic battle between Nathan Rhind, Jake Mcintyre, Luke Molloy and Jacob Garrick.Racing starts midday Sunday.By Daryl Shuttleworth
