This sound cine film taken on Saturday, the 7th February 1981, features the Southland Vintage Car Club rally to Riverton and shows some of the vehicles departing from Feldwick Gates in Invercargill at the start of the 40km run to Riverton.
131 vehicles took part in the rally with many owners coming from northern centres. The vehicles taking part ranged from veteran, vintage, post vintage, and post war with the oldest vehicle being a rare 1900 Wolseley ‘Voiturette’ belonging to Mr Colin Winter of Dunedin.
