Southland Stags have announced their team to take on Waikato this Sunday, September 29th, in the Bunnings NPC match at Rugby Park Stadium, Invercargill. Kick-off is at 2.05pm.
Head coaches Matt Saunders and James Wilson have confirmed a strong lineup for the match, with veteran lock Josh Bekhuis set to play his 143rd game for the team. This achievement will see him equal Jason Rutledge's record for the most caps for Southland. Bekhuis, who debuted in 2006 against North Otago, will be hoping to mark the occasion with a memorable performance.
Fans attending are encouraged to show their support by wearing their club colours alongside Southland's colours, as it's club round. Tickets are available through Ticketek, the ICC Booking office, or at the gate on match day. Adult tickets are priced at $20, and two children under 14 can attend for free with every adult ticket, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
Key players missing through injury include Hunter Fahey, Morgan Mitchell, and Charlie Powell, with Connor Collins, Woody Kirkwood, and Matt Whaanga out for the season.
