Southland District Council is advising residents and road users of several scheduled maintenance works and water shutdowns across the region this week.

Water Shutdowns
Water supply interruptions are expected in Te Anau and Tuatapere due to urgent repair works. On 17 November, repairs at 39 Fergus Square will affect the entire street from 9am to 3pm. The following day, 18 November, work at 29 Tawera Place will impact numbers 25–31 on the same street, also between 9am and 3pm.

Tuatapere residents may experience interruptions on either 19 or 20 November as repairs take place at 17 Orawia Road. Properties from 5–29 Orawia Road, as well as all of Ferry Road and Sneyd Street, will be affected. The work is scheduled for 9am to 3pm.

The Council stated: “Timeframes are indicative only. Water supply will be resumed without further notification. We apologise for any inconvenience.”

Road Closures
In the Waihopai Toetoe area, Wards Road will be closed to through traffic on 20 and 21 November, between 8am and 5pm. The closure is required to safely remove trees. No detour will be available, but emergency access will be restored immediately if necessary.
