Southland Museum and Art Gallery Declared Safe After Evacuation

The Southland Museum and Art Gallery is now being reopened following an
evacuation early this afternoon.

Museum Manager Paul Horner said the building has now been declared safe
to use.

An electrician is carrying out repairs after a small transformer overheated in
the switchboard but these will not affect members of the public or the safety of
the building.

The Museum will be open during normal operating house this weekend.
