‘Our business model, vision, and values will remain the same. The passion we have for enriching the lives of those living with disability through offering meaningful employment and personal development is still very much at the heart of who we are,’ says Recycle South’s general manager, Hamish McMurdo.
Recycle South is still a not-for-profit registered charity organisation that will continue to remove employment barriers for people living with disabilities. The goal is for every staff member to feel valued and be proud of what they achieve.
The rebrand is an opportunity for Recycle South to realign everything, encompassing a more modern organisation. It represents Recycle South’s new services, which will be on offer later in the year.
‘We want to become the one-stop recycling place for Southland. The name Recycle South reflects both the work we do now and the future opportunities we see here. While we do a large portion of Southland’s domestic recycling, we are keen to expand our operations in the commercial sector,’ Mr McMurdo said.
‘We thrive with the support of the Southland community,’ Mr McMurdo said.
‘We’re progressive and forward thinking seeking better environmental solutions where possible. Our operation is a fantastic way to look after both our local community and the local environment.’
The Southland-based charity organisation processes kerbside recycling for Invercargill City Council and Southland District Council. It also has an e-waste recycling department which caters for digital and mechanical recycling and a recycling collections service for Southland businesses.
