The Southland Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that from August 1 they will be managing SIT Centrestage and the TicketDirect Booking Office.

CEO Sheree Carey said the Chamber has spent significant time with an eyes inward focus – really sharpening our offering and ensuring we are adding genuine value to the Southland business community. We have a clear strategic plan moving forward and are now ready to turn eyes outward and get visibility for the Chamber and increase our footprint. We see the acquisition of the management contract as a great way for the Chamber to further engage with the Southland community.

“Given our recent move into the arcade and the number of events we already run for our members, the foot traffic and added promotion from the TicketDirect booking office will only assist in growing our profile. We are also looking forward to utilising SIT Centrestage Theatre to hold Chamber functions.”

SIT Chief Penny Simmonds says “This further strengthens the ties between SIT and The Chamber and shows good synergy with the Chambers relocation into the SIT Arcade” SIT Centrestage Theatre Manager Lynn Tong said the move would provide better accessibility to the TicketDirect booking office and assist in the promotion of shows held at the theatre.

“Being associated with the Southland Chamber of Commerce will ensure the continued growth of the theatre which over the past few years has been going from strength-to- strength. I look forward to being part of the Chamber team and welcoming the public into the new offices at the Esk Street end of the arcade,” she said.
