Invercargill entrepreneur Latoya Treymane has brought The Smile Studio to Invercargill, and is hoping more people will take advantage of the new teeth whitening business in city.

Teeth whitening is something Latoya and her sister Chloe discovered through their own personal experiences, and they both say it’s been an exciting journey learning about the industry.

“After realising how expensive and often inaccessible teeth whitening can be, we wanted to offer an affordable, high-quality solution without sacrificing results. That’s what led us to dive in and decide to open a teeth whitening practice, solely focused on treatments that make people feel refreshed.”

Latoya said she’s really enjoyed researching and re-training in a new industry.

“Becoming a registered practitioner under the New Zealand Cosmetic Teeth Whitening Association (NZCTWA) opened a world of new knowledge to focus on, and one that gives us great pleasure, it's a great feeling transforming someone's smile.” 

One of the main goals at The Smile Studio was to break the stigma around teeth whitening. 

“Many people still associate it with invasive treatments or high sensitivity and discomfort, but the technology has come such a long way. We use the latest equipment in New Zealand, and a standard treatment is a 60-minute in-chair procedure that delivers noticeable results without the pain or side effects of older technologies. This allows us to whiten teeth safely and effectively, making it a more realistic option for everyone.” 

The pair have built their business on integrity and affordability, allowing the treatments to be more accessible to a wider audience. 

“Everyone deserves to feel confident about their smile, and seeing clients leave with a smile ear to ear is a great feeling. The Invercargill and Feilding Studio are proving very popular, and both Chloe and I look forward to opening more Studios around New Zealand soon.”

Prior to starting The Smile Studio, Latoya spent the last eight years as a stay-at-home mum, raising her children and running another business that she continues to manage called NavyBaby, which brings joy to little ones through carefully selected toys.

“Now, with my last child off to school I'm able to bring another venture into my day that makes a positive difference in people's lives.”
