UPDATED: Monday 10th October 2:20pm Final election result sees change in Council table.
The count of special votes has resulted in a change in Council with Lindsay Abbott replacing Graham Sycamore in the 12th seat.
Electoral Officer Graham Low said on election night Mr Sycamore had a margin of three votes, but now Mr Abbott was in with a margin of six votes.
“We processed 46 special votes-that was the only change going through. We finalised 21,378 votes, which is 54.9% of eligible voters.”
The members of the new Invercargill City Council will be sworn in at an Inaugural Council Meeting on October 26 at 4pm at Council’s Civic Administration Building and the Bluff
Community Board members on October 31 at 7pm and the Bluff Municipal Chambers.

Invercargill’s voters have re-elected Tim Shadbolt to serve an eighth term as Mayor, Invercargill City Council Electoral Officer Graham Low announced today.
Mr Shadbolt won the Mayoralty with 11,590 votes over Mayoral candidates Tom Conroy with 6,109 votes and Karen Arnold with 3,193 votes.
Mr Shadbolt’s first term as Mayor of Invercargill was 1993-1995. He was re-elected Mayor in 1998-2001 and has held the position since.
Four new Councillors have been elected; Toni Biddle, Alex Crackett, Lesley Soper, Allan Arnold.

The Bluff Community Board has stayed the same.
Electoral Officer Graham Low said he had received 21,318 votes which represents a voter return percentage of 54.8%.
Mr Low said these were preliminary results with approximately 50 special votes still to be processed. The 12th, 13th and 14th seats were separated by just 20 votes. Final results are expected to be announced on Wednesday.
