Bluff Highway Reopened After Fatal Crash
Bluff Highway has reopened this afternoon following a fatal two-car crash that took place early this morning. Emergency services responded just after 6am to the crash at the intersection of State Highway 1 and Kew Road. Tragically, one person died at the scene. Police
confirmed there were no other injuries.

The two-car crash took place around 6am at the intersection of SH 1 and Kew Road. "Due to a serious crash, State Highway 1 is now closed between Elles Road and Elizabeth Street. Please follow the detour route and expect delays."
Emergency services responded to the scene immediately and remain on-site. Indications are that there are serious injuries involved.
"The road will remain closed at the intersection with Kew Road while emergency services work at the scene."
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and expect delays. A detour has been set up to help manage traffic flow.
Southbound vehicles should turn left onto Elizabeth Street, then right onto Elles Road, returning to SH 1. Northbound traffic should follow the same detour in reverse.
"Detour route: Southbound traffic turn left onto Elizabeth Street, then turn right onto Elles Road, follow Elles Road back onto State Highway 1. Reverse for northbound traffic."
Traffic management remains in place and updates will be provided as the situation develops.
