The Tokanui-Gorge Road Highway is now open, following an earlier serious crash.
The two-vehicle crash, involving a ute and a motorcycle, occurred at around 1:15pm.
Two people were transported to hospital with critical injuries.
Police thank motorists for their patience while emergency services attended the scene.

Emergency services are attending a serious two-vehicle crash on the Tokanui-Gorge Road Highway, Southland.
Police were called about 1.15pm.
Initial indications are there are serious injuries.
The road is closed between Fleming Road and the Gorge Road-Invercargill Highway, with diversions in place, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
