SH1 DACRE TO EDENDALE, SOUTHLAND – SERIOUS CRASH – FINAL UPDATE 10AM
This serious crash on SH1 #Dacre has been CLEARED and the road is fully OPEN in both directions.
A St John Ambulance spokesperson one person has been flown to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter in a critical condition.
Detour route: Eastbound traffic use SH1, then turn right onto Dacre-Morton Mains Road. Turn left onto Rimu-Seaward Downs Road and continue along Edendale-Seaward Downs Road, then straight along Seaward Road to SH1 at Edendale. Reverse for Westbound traffic.

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious crash on SH1, Dacre, where a car has hit a cow.
Police were called about 6.45am. One person has reportedly been seriously injured.
The road is closed, with diversions in place. Motorists should avoid the area if possible.
