The final meeting of the Southland Sports Car Club’s 2022/2023 motor racing season at Teretonga Park in Invercargill takes place this Sunday, 16 April.

The meeting, presented by Downer, will see cars and motorcycles combined on the same programme for the first time in many years.

Admission will be free and the action is scheduled to commence 9am with motorcycles, Noel McIntyre Drainage Club Saloons and the annual A1 Auto Services 1 Hour Race making up the programme.

Jordan Michels and Liam MacDonald look set to resume their Club Saloon rivalry at this meeting in their respective Ford’s, a V8 Focus in Michels’ case with MacDonald in his Falcon. Fellow Invercargill driver Craig Allan will be at the wheel of his Nissan 180SX while others in the field will be Bradley Dawson in his Mazda RX8, Dave McLean of Gore in his Honda Integra while Denzil Travers of Wanaka brings his Audi LMS3 TCR to the event. Father and son Boyd and Harry Wilson are also entered in their NZV8’s, a Commodore and Falcon respectively.

The motorcycle programme is Round 2 of the Southland Motorcycle Club’s Southland Cup with races for F1/F2, F3/Motard plus Classics with a Have A Go component to their day.
