Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 situation and an elevation to Alert Level 2 severely impacts the delivery of community sport.

All Southland community rugby competitions and events from u18 and below (inc. trainings) will not take part under Alert Level 2 or higher this weekend & Monday 17th August.

While rugby is possible under Alert Level 2, it is not practical and manageable for our clubs, schools and volunteers who administer and deliver the matches. It is strongly recommended that junior trainings are suspended next week. If clubs decide to train, they will assume responsibility for adhering to Ministry of Health regulations.

Rugby Southland are currently considering options for playing the Southland Wide GO Bus senior competition finals – hoping for the best but planning for the worst.

Should Southland return to Alert Level 1 this Friday, Saturday’s games and competitions will return to normal.

Further updates will be announced as soon as they are available.
