Invercargill’s popular Waxy O’Shea’s has reopened following an extensive refurbishment.

The Invercargill Licensing Trust has invested over $400,000 in the recent renovation of the inner-city Irish pub – its first full makeover since opening in 2001 – utilising the design talents of local architect Brent Knight.

Trust sales and marketing manager Chris Ramsay said the revamp ensured Waxy’s would
continue to meet the expectations of patrons into the future.

“Trends in the hospitality industry are constantly shifting so our commitment to reinvesting into our existing portfolio plays an important role in keeping our key businesses modern and fresh,” he said.
“We’ve also taken this opportunity to invigorate the menu whilst keeping a distinctly Irish Kiwi flavour throughout.
“This is an exciting time for Waxy’s and our staff who are incredibly proud of what’s been
achieved.”
