Sky watchers and plane spotters had a treat this morning (Tues)
A South African Airlines flight made land fall right over Southland after a direct and long flight from Johannesburg South Africa.
The flight, possibly the first direct flight from South Africa to Christchurch was bringing kiwi’s home from South Africa.
The flight SA2984 from Or Tambo International Airport took 12 hours 42 minutes flying time.
Missed it today? We’ve heard that plane is expected to depart Christchurch at 11.30 am on Thursday morning and there is a chance that it may fly over Southland on its way home.
