What a few weeks its been, we’ve got a new PM after John Key declared his innings closed. Work on restoring the road and rail links into and out of Kaikoura is swinging into action after the huge earthquakes last month.

The Invers inner city decorations are up and already one Christmas tree has been taken out of service due to the actions of a person or persons unknown. The national media came running to cover that story putting Invers on the map, all for the wrong reasons.

What a tragic spell we’ve had over the last few days. The week ended with two young people having their lives cut short and two others injured in a car crash near Rakahouka.

To cap things off, jockey Rebecca Black died in a tragic fall at the races at Gore on Sunday.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to the families and friends of the victims of the car crash and of Rebecca Black. Just tragic.

It’s just days to go before Christmas and the rush to get everything done and ticked off is on us. Just take it easy, everything will get done and if it doesn’t , well……
