Legendary New Zealand comedians Nick Rado and Raybon Kan are coming south to serve up a St Patrick’s Day treat with their ‘Rado & Raybon Save the World’ show at Invercargill Brewery.

The two comedians perform their own stand-up comedy during the first half of the show, then come together to help solve problems suggested by the audience for the second half.

“If the audience doesn’t come up with enough burning issues of the day, we’ll offer our own,” Kan said.

House Series creator Jade Gillies said the four previous comedy gigs at the brewery had been fantastic nights, with sell-out audiences lapping up top New Zealand talent.

The Asylum at Invercargill Brewery venue now had an increased capacity of 190, which was great as most of the previous shows had sold-out ahead of the night, Gillies said.

“These guys are both hilarious and have a really witty take on the many crazy things going on around us all the time.”

Gillies said the show, brought south by Arts on Tour, recognised there was a huge appetite for comedy in Southland.

Rado is a multi-award winning writer, MC and stand-up comedian.

He is a guest comedian and head writer for TV3’s award-winning topical news comedy show 7 Days who has performed to international acclaim, and is a four-time winner of the NZ Comedy Guild Award for ‘Best Comedy MC’.

Rado has also performed stand up at an All Black vs Australia Bledisloe Cup breakfast.

Kan is a legendary figure in Kiwi and international comedy having performed on TV’s Pulp Comedy, starred in a number of films, written several books and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and a host of other international comedy festivals.

After living overseas for a few years, he has returned to New Zealand, and is a prominent commentator on social issues and guest speaker for events.
