Updated: 5:50pm Police have completed a search of Queenstown Airport following a bomb scare.

Nothing of interest has been found and the airport is now being reopened and will resume normal operations.

Police ask people to be patient as there will be delays as people are moved back into the terminal.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident.

“Bomb scare at Queenstown Airport”

Police are responding to an incident at Queenstown Airport in which a note mentioning a bomb was found on a plane.

A cleaner discovered the note on a plane on the tarmac shortly before 3pm.

The airport terminal was evacuated following the discovery.

Aviation Security and Police have searched the plane and found no evidence of an explosive.

Teams are continuing to search through baggage and the terminal building and making enquiries with passengers.
