A Powerball player from Invercargill has hit the jackpot and won $17.25 million in tonight’s live Lotto draw.

The lucky winner bought their ticket on MyLotto and scooped the entire Powerball First Division prize, plus $250,000 from Lotto First Division.

This is the seventh time this year that Powerball has created a multi-millionaire. The latest win follows a $7 million Powerball prize that was claimed by a retired couple from Porirua earlier this month. The couple plan to use their winnings to help their family.

Three other Lotto players are also celebrating after each winning $250,000 with Lotto First Division. The winning Lotto tickets were sold at Flaxmere Pharmacy in Hastings, Woodham Foodmarket in Christchurch and on MyLotto to a player from Auckland.

In addition, a Strike player from Rotorua has won $400,000 with Strike Four. The winning Strike ticket was sold at Paper Plus Rotorua Central.
