Southland Police arrested two men this morning following a recent surge in rural burglaries and vehicle thefts. The arrests came after multiple search warrants were executed at local addresses by city and rural Police teams, leading to the recovery of numerous stolen items, including vehicles.
In addition to the stolen property, police seized firearms and discovered a cannabis grow operation.
The two men, aged 26 and 35, will appear in Invercargill District Court soon. They face various charges, including receiving stolen property. The 35-year-old also faces charges for unlawful possession of firearms and cultivating cannabis.
